Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Director of Clinical Operation, the LPCC Counselor, as a part of the primary care team, is responsible for providing standardized counseling/talk therapy, for MGRMCs patients with mild to moderate mental health conditions and/or substance abuse who are referred by MGRMCs physicians and mid-level providers. The LPCC Counselor will work to address other social needs of patients and will utilize area referral sources for needed specialty care, hospitalization, or advance psychiatric assessments and treatments.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Proof of highest level of education completed but not less than high school education or equivalent as recognized by an approved government accreditation association.
  • Completion of an accredited program with certification and licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the state of Arizona.
  • Demonstrates two (2) or more years of recent outpatient mental health counseling experience, preferably in a similar health care setting.
  • Maintains current CPR Certification from the American Heart Association (Healthcare Provider) required or other approved educational programs. New hires are required to obtain certification within 3 months of employment.
  • Maintains current MGRMC credentialing and privileging requirements.
  • Skill in providing professional counseling/talk therapy according to established standards of care; excellent customer service and support skills.
  • Ability to successfully counsel patients for improved mental and behavioral health.
  • Work with physicians, mid-levels and other members of medical care teams to evaluate patient conditions and develop comprehensive care plans.
  • Successfully refer patients to mental health specialists and other community resources as appropriate.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of MGRMC personnel.
  • Maintain confidentiality, follow federal, state and local guidelines, and maintain HIPAA compliance.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form required.
  • An understanding of computer systems, process design and data management
  • Must have a well-groomed, professional appearance.
  • Ability to lift, carry, pull, & push 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of coding process
  • Five years professional clinical experience.
  • Working knowledge of Milliman Care Guidelines (MCG) and/or ability to learn.
  • Working knowledge of Meditech system or equivalent and or ability to learn.
