Robert Half Payroll Specialist in Saint Paul, Minnesota

Description

We are on the lookout for a diligent Payroll Specialist to join our team in Saint Paul, Minnesota. In this role, you will be tasked with managing all aspects of payroll processing for our school system, which includes handling both hourly and exempt employees. This role will also involve some data entry and the preparation of journal entries.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately processing payroll for both hourly and exempt employees

• Managing data entry related to payroll and ensuring the information is up-to-date

• Preparing and managing journal entries as a part of the payroll process

• Reviewing workers compensation and conducting audits as necessary

• Handling exceptions in automated payroll processes and manually rectifying them

• Utilizing skills in Paylocity, bi-Monthly Payroll processing, Data Entry, Journal Entries, and Workers Compensation to effectively perform the role

• Collaborating with other team members to ensure efficient payroll operations

• Managing manual pay pieces and ensuring they are correctly incorporated into the payroll system

• Conducting regular audits to prepare for any potential discrepancies or issues

• Handling any inquiries related to payroll and providing accurate information.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Paylocity software

• Experience with bi-Monthly Payroll processing

• Knowledge of Journal Entries

• Familiarity with Workers Compensation procedures

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Previous experience in a similar role

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion is necessary

• Strong numerical skills and ability to work with complex data

• Knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulations
