Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Cable Technician to join our team in the Salt lake City Utah. The successful candidate will provide technical support become an integral part of a diverse team while working at an Industry Leading Organization, where our employees come first. At ManTech International Corporation, you’ll help protect our national security while working on innovative projects that offer opportunities for advancement. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting operational deployment and tests on newly installed cable, telephone, and fiber-optic systems. Also perform maintenance on existing cable systems.

The selected candidate will be able to provide hands-on experience with digital cable boxes, satellite television dishes and computer network equipment and cables. The successful candidate will ensure that cable systems are fully operational and designed to meet client and technical specifications.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Troubleshooting and repairing cable system infrastructure

  • Install data and voice cables for business cable television and router/switched systems.

  • Upgrade existing cable television and internet systems

  • Performing troubleshooting and repair cable system

  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of connected systems.

  • Provides Tier III engineering support to globally distributed services teams and customer base.

  • Interface with agency and non-agency sites via emails/phone to walk them through hands-on troubleshooting

  • Work flexible hours, staying until the job is completed (mission is restored)

  • Communicate with the other engineering personnel to coordinate the interrelated design to assure project completion

  • Conducts site surveys and documents the same

  • Travel to support cable deployments of various types of cable (copper/fiber) CONUS and OCONUS, as needed

  • Participate in customer meetings as needed for systems discussion and provide feedback to Managers and other members on requirements and improvements

  • Use a ticketing systems (ServiceNow) to review and process requirements

  • Install copper/fiber, terminate, and Testing using Certified Testing Equipment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Successful candidate should have at least 4 years of experience in low voltage cable repair and installation.

  • High level of understanding of site drawings, prints, schematics, and room layouts.

  • Knowledge of the TIA/EIA color code for copper and fiber cabling systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • (10) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must have a current/active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph

Physical Requirements:

  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to collaborate with other leaders/teams, use standard office automation equipment, and virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.

  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds.

  • Climbing up and down numerous size ladders and working under a raised floor environment.

  • Working both indoor and outdoor environments.
