Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in San Antonio, Texas

Description We are offering a contract-to-hire employment opportunity in the construction industry for an Accounts Payable Specialist in San Antonio, Texas. The successful candidate will support process flow improvements, reconcile processed work, and maintain accounting ledgers. This position is not remote and requires strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Excel.

Responsibilities:

• Complete payments and control expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices.

• Charge expenses to accounts by analyzing invoice/expense reports and recording entries.

• Pay vendors by scheduling and preparing checks, and resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation.

• Ensure credit is received for outstanding memos.

• Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.

• Maintain historical records by filing documents electronically.

• Accomplish accounting and organization mission by completing related tasks as needed.

• Respond to inquiries from vendors and project managers regarding invoices and purchase orders.

• Maintain vendor relationships.

• Utilize proficiency in MS Excel and Outlook skills for various tasks.

• Perform data entry tasks and general math skills.

• Carry out other duties as assigned. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Accounts Payable Specialist role or similar within the Construction/Contractor industry

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems such as Deltek, Deltek Costpoint, and Microsoft Excel

• Experience with IBM AS/400 system is highly desirable

• Demonstrated ability to handle accounting functions including but not limited to Accounts Payable (AP) and Check Processing

• Strong data entry skills, with attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data

• Proficiency in using Excel Formulas for financial computations and data analysis

• Experience in Coding Invoices and managing Purchase Orders

• Familiarity with Government Contracts and the related financial procedures and regulations

• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members and management.
