Whether in a direct-care or support role, your contribution will make a difference in the life of a Texan.Administrative Assistant I performs administrative and demographic data entry of patient information, (demographics), into the Electronic Records System and#150; AVATAR (CWS/PM). Responsible for accurate data entry procedures related to all court commitment documents. Ability to read and transcribe physician assessments accurately and data enter into CWS in a timely fashion. Must be able to express self effectively both orally and in written communication and demonstrate appropriate telephone etiquette. Works under the general direction of the Admissions-Data Entry Supervisor. Essential Job Functions1. Attends work on a regular basis and may be required to work a specific shift schedule or, at times, even a rotating schedule, extended shift and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.2. Performs functions and processes related to patient admissions to the hospital using the electronic record system.3. Codes diagnoses using ICD-10 and DSM-V and entering the information enters codes into AVATAR.4. Transcribes physician assessments into the electronic record system.5. Answers internal and external telephone calls in Admission area.6. Compile the Midnight Census Report submitting CAFM numbers to Central Office-Austin.7. Ensures that responsible units are provided/routed pertinent documents on patients.8. Ability to flex time or shift to provide coverage.9. Other duties as assigned include but are not limited to actively participating and/or serving in a supporting role to meet the agencyand#146;s obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation. Such participation may require an alternate shift pattern assignment and/or location.Registrations, Licensure Requirements or CertificationsNoneKnowledge Skills Abilities1. Typing skills, 35 words per minute.2. Mathematical skills.3. Skill in the use of standard office equipment and software.4. Ability to work under pressure and prioritize job assignments.5. Ability to communicate effectivelyInitial Screening Criteria1. Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent.2. Preferred skill in the use of standard office equipment, computer and software.3. Preferred experience in data entry.
