Navistar, Inc. Senior Lead Manufacturing Engineer in San Antonio, Texas
Position Overview
Navistar Manufacturing Engineering has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Lead Manufacturing Engineer at our San Antonio Assembly Plant.This position will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and be the lead in developing and updating General Assembly production processes through the analysis of data. In this position, you will work directly with R&D, Quality, and production on improving product and process design concepts and ensure the systems are building the trucks to the correct specifications.
Responsibilities
Sustain and improve assembly process through the analysis of data
Provide feedback to R&D on DFA requirements and design concept improvements
Project lead for upcoming general assembly process and tooling related projects
Develop general assembly concepts
Develop and contribute to internal SOW's for projects
Develop, monitor, and maintain the integrity of the product and process
Evaluate and manage external and internal products and processes to ensure processes are met for all components delivered and processed through the STX facility
Support analysis of new models through readiness meetings
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree
At least 8 years of product manufacturing experience
At least 1 year lead experience
OR
Master’s degree
At least 6 years of product manufacturing experience
At least 1 year lead experience
OR
At least 10 years of product manufacturing experience
At least 1 year lead experience
Additional Requirements
- Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills
Expertise with automotive tooling and equipment design and build
Proven large scale project management
Proved knowledge of automotive or truck assembly processes
Able to lead and work in a matrix organization
Experience with 3d product viewer/TeamCenter
Production exposure and Project commissioning
Exposure to error proofing concepts, ERP system and order management, stamping, AGV's
