This is a Job Description for a Cost Control Analyst in San Diego, California

Summary:

 Performs detailed variance analysis, creates monthly report packages as required for assigned projects across Sempra Infrastructure portfolio, and perform ad hoc analysis as requested by Development or other functional areas.

  Supports project economic modeling, Capital Value Process (CVP) deliverables, and authorization for expenditure (AFE) document support.

Duties & Responsibilities:

 Performs detailed variance analysis, creates monthly report packages as required for assigned projects across Sempra Infrastructure portfolio, and perform ad hoc analysis as requested by Development or other functional areas. Supports project economic modeling, Capital Value Process (CVP) deliverables, and authorization for expenditure (AFE) document support. Reviews cost data and perform monthly variance analysis by assigned project and provide feedback to project team. Supports AFE development and economic modeling. Supports the development and implementation of standardized project control best practices across the organization. Performs ad hoc reporting and assignments. Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).

Requirements

: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related business administration. 3+ years of experience in a comparable financial role working and developing project forecasts & tracking budgets. Experience in a comparable financial role analyzing data for decision making purpose. Skills with Excel and financial modeling. Mathematical and analytical skills with problem solving abilities. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with a diverse audience. Project management skills and attention to detail. Ability and drive to advance an issue or problem for identification through resolution. Knowledge of project finance and project cost management. Knowledge of project schedule concepts. Ability to summarize complex data into logical presentations. Must be able to travel up to 20%.
