The Procurement Specialist, Sr. – IT is an individual contributor role, responsible for extracting value from of a portfolio of IT Procurement Events. This is a delivery focused role, responsible for running the Source to Contract process. Procurement Delivery role, focused on project managing RFx events, leading supplier negotiations, managing stakeholders and maximizing the value of Qualcomm’s technology spendPosition requires extensive experience in strategic sourcing, vendor relationship management, and complex contracts operations as well as a proven track record in vendor negotiations. Upmost importance to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills; high level negotiating skills, excellent problem solving skills, as well as expertise in conflict resolution; and commodity and industry expert knowledge of terms for the assigned commodity(s). Responsibilities include: developing and executing category management plans and strategic sourcing strategies and selling these strategies to internal stakeholders; identify and lead cost saving initiatives; establishes and meets cost savings target; confer and align with internal stakeholders on business needs and sourcing strategies. Establish effective relationships, partnerships, strategies with stakeholders, vendors, finance, legal and other cross-functional teams. Subject matter expertise for commodities assigned (knowledge of industry major players, threats, opportunities, terms etc.). Effectively drafts RFX, perform bidders conferences, sourcing events. Manage the sourcing process from analyzing the vendors proposals, communicating between stakeholders and determining a negotiation strategy. Implementation and execution of the negotiation strategy; understanding financial impact to all negotiations.- Assigned to Tier 1 IT Procurement Events: Typically, $500K+ &/or high complexity &/or high visibility &/or high risk.- Supports the Category Managers with the application and implementation of Category Strategies and Negotiation Strategies. - Partnering with stakeholders (both internal and external) to maximize the value of IT spend; drive savings, reduce risk, enable revenue growth, and increase operational efficiency. - Proven track record in supplier negotiations and delivering multi-million-dollar cost savings.- Extensive experience in both IT Sourcing and IT Contracting. Can negotiate both commercial and legal terms. - Utilize a variety of skills, including Spend Analytics, TCO Modelling, Sensitivity Analysis, Leverage Management, Change Management, Risk Management, Conflict Resolution, Project Management and Stakeholder Management.- Requires the ability to define and negotiate a commercial construct, working autonomously but within defined corporate and department policies, processes, and guidelines.- Collaborates with cross functional teams (IT, finance, legal, suppliers) and can successfully build stakeholder relationships. - Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills; experience writing tenders and excellent problem-solving skills- Strong negotiator with high emotional intelligence, advanced customer service skills and comfortable navigating ambiguity.- Able to analyze large volumes of complex data and distill it down to provide timely insights and actionable intelligence. - Expertise in the IT supplier market: major suppliers, trends, threats, terms, etc.- Requires understanding of how corporate IT departments operate.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, or a related field. 4+ years of experience in IT strategic sourcing
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with the Source to Contract process. International procurement experience a plus.
Other skills: Excellent strategic and creative thinking skills with emphasis on developing innovative solutions to solve complex problems that may not have one clear answer; Demonstrated performance in prior role(s), with increasing levels of responsibility; Ability to multitask and handle a volume of IT Procurement Events simultaneously with accuracy in a fast-paced office environment; Highly motivated, results driven, strong analytical capabilities and negotiation skills; Self-starter and independent worker
