Job Summary:
The Engineer IV – Program Management Engineer will apply thorough knowledge of current principles and practices of engineering as related to the variety of aspects affecting his or her organization. This position will also apply knowledge and expertise acquired through progressive experience to resolve crucial issues and/or unique conditions. In addition, the Engineer IV – Program Management Engineer will be aware and understand information affecting client’s execution of capital improvement programs in all phases of project development from concept level to construction completion. Will have an understanding of state and federal resource and funding agencies. Track budgets and trends on multiple projects to forecast program needs. Lead multiple design disciplines to review project plans, specifications, and cost estimates. Ability to generate program status reports interpreting data from multiple sources.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Participate on a program management team for large transportation agencies
Work with transportation agency project managers executing capital improvement projects
Keep informed of new developments and requirements affecting the organization for the purpose of recommending changes in programs or applications
Interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate multiple assignments concurrently
Provide monthly program status summary documentation
Track and manage status of multiple projects within a program, including design, permitting and finances
Other duties as assigned or required to meet the business needs
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Proficient with electronic communications including e-mail and text as well as standard office applications (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite)
Advanced oral and written communication skills
Lead program meetings and make presentations
Represent the organization and maintain liaison with individuals and related organizations
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program
Preferred Education and Experience:
5-8 years prior experience
Understanding of Construction and Project Financing
Transportation Agency Engagement
Engaged in life-long learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary issues
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Oversee the work of other consultants providing design peer review and construction cost estimates
Plan, schedule, or coordinate the preparation of program documents or activities for multiple major projects
Review and implement operational procedures to ensure compliance with applicable policies and performance measures
Additional Qualifications, Certifications, etc.:
EIT, equivalent, or authorization of CLPO
Member of professional practice organization, board member or officer
Additional Information:
Offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $120,000 / year.
