NBC Universal Facility Maintenance Engineer - NBC & Telemundo Bay Area in San Jose, California

The Facility Maintenance Engineer is responsible for performing support and maintenance functions for the facility and other building needs by partnering with Technology, Operations, Finance and Human Resources Management to ensure compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety regulation in the facility as well as day to day facilities operations support including HVAC, Electrical, Janitorial, Parking, Construction, Deliveries and other building needs.

Responsibilities would include but not limited to:

  • Responsible for coordinating with clients, construction crews, vendors, city officials and deliveries that need access to facility

  • Managing compliance with permitting and code requirements, Electrical and Fire Sprinkler systems

  • Provide purchasing assistance with entering orders in accounting system

  • Be the primary liaison for building alarm systems and operators

  • Be primary onsite contact for regularly to ensure agreed to service levels

  • Provide basic facility needs to make sure facility is properly maintained

  • Provide accurate documentation of visitors, task lists and project timelines

  • Work with Technology team to ensure that all building plans are kept in good order and updated as necessary

  • Assure that all appropriate approvals are obtained for alterations/remodels

  • Perform regular site inspections for safety and aesthetics with service providers, property managers, and visitors and to ensure proper building maintenance and functionality consistent with Company EHS requirements

  • Ensure that on-site safety requirements are being followed

  • Environmental, Health and Safety lead which ensures regulatory and non-regulatory are routinely performed and recorded

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in facilities or building maintenance/management

  • Knowledge in basic commercial HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical

  • Working knowledge facility maintenance and needs of a production studio[O(1] 

  • Strong aptitude for complex problem solving and an ability to identify and implement process improvement and change management

  • Superior organizational skills

  • Ability to navigate computer and mobile apps to access work related platforms

  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines with accuracy

  • Ability to write, speak and present effectively

  • Willing and able to work longer hours when necessary

  • Ability to respond 24/7 for emergency issues

  • Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to influence and lead change

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs

Desired Characteristics:

  • Ability to adapt and work well in a fast-paced, results-oriented and rapidly changing environment

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver on multiple assignments, meet tight deadlines, and be effective and decisive under pressure

  • Past work experience in the facility management preferred

  • Understand EHS or Risk Management which involves e-waste, universal and hazardous material waste

  • Spanish speaking a plus

  • Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $105,000 DOE
