Amazon CSM - Research Specialist, International Seller Growth in San Jose, Costa Rica

Description

The International Seller Growth organization develops solutions, including the software platform and applications that drive demand generation, customer acquisition, seller integration, customer relationship management, and order management functions necessary for sellers worldwide to manage their business online at Amazon.

We are looking for a Research specialist who will work with User Experience, Product Management, Engineering (science & tech), other product and business teams across Amazon to help us grow our product using Seller Insights that will become a co-pilot in the growth journey of tens of thousands of Sellers as they sell on Amazon.

The ideal candidate is a passionate yet pragmatic visionary who can gather and synthesize customer data, behaviors, motivations and preferences to propose new solutions. You are experienced at combining qualitative and quantitative data and practices, and are expert at telling a cohesive story with your findings. You are responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open and collaborative peer environment. You have global perspective and experience leveraging diverse market and customer needs, educating a core product and business teams with this knowledge. In this role you will work closely with business stakeholders, software engineers and product teams to deliver complex, high quality, scalable products deployed around the world.

Key job responsibilities

Identify best human-centered research methods (quantitative and qualitative) to answer question on our users based on research questions, timeline, and resourcing.

Define and execute a comprehensive research roadmap; communicate and refresh on regular basis to ensure relevancy.

Gather and analyze human performance, behavioral, and interaction/usage data to test product and UX design hypotheses, derive recommendations for design and actions, and validate human error probabilities.

Create a deep understanding and empathy for our Selling Partners across diverse audiences, including designers, PMs, engineers, and business leaders.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years proven success leading User Research projects with demonstrated impact.

• Portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables (e.g., study plans, reports, personas).

• 3+ years of experience managing all stages of research design (study design, test creation, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting).

• 3+ years of experience with research methods including: field research/ethnography, usability and human factors evaluation (heuristic assessments, usability testing), concept evaluation techniques, formative research (UX vision and concept testing, iterative design evaluation), large-scale behavioral and sentiment research, and statistical methods used to analyze data related to human performance, behavior, and interaction with systems and products. Ability to design and lead participatory design workshops.

Preferred Qualifications

· BS or MS in Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Engineering or similar.

· Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization

· Experience in a highly agile/scrum environment. · Ability to work in a startup environment.

· Human-centered/human factors research or other experience from a technical field, such as software development, systems management or similar.

· Experience delivering human factors and human-centered research to deliver cloud financial management digital tools.

· Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role.
