We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an HR Benefits Specialist in Sanford, Florida, United States. This role will focus on the administration of employee benefits programs, managing FMLA processes, and coordinating workers' compensation claims among other responsibilities.


• Administer various employee benefits programs such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, and wellness benefits.

• Conduct benefits orientations and explain the self-enrollment system to employees.

• Maintain employee benefits filing systems and ensure benefits changes are entered correctly in the payroll system.

• Assist employees with health, dental, life, and other related benefit claims.

• Verify the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintain statistical data relative to premiums, claims, and costs.

• Review and respond to unemployment claims with appropriate documentation.

• Manage the FMLA process for the organization.

• Coordinate workers' compensation claims with third-party administrator.

• Assist in obtaining statistics and information in the renewal process of any health, life, and retirement plans.

• Prepare and maintain biweekly employee reports, new-hire, and absentee reports. Maintain and update company organizational charts, phone directory, and other requested reports as needed.


• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an HR Specialist or similar role.

• Proficiency in ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now.

• Experience with Benefit Functions, including Benefits Administration and Benefits Coordination.

• Familiarity with Compensation Administration and Compensation & Benefits.

• Skilled in Compliance procedures related to HR.

• Knowledge of Hiring Processes and conducting New Hire Orientations.

• Ability to create and manage Organizational Charts.

• Experience with the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) processes.

• Familiarity with Unemployment Claim and Unemployment Compensation processes.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Experience with Dental Benefits and EOB - Explanation of Benefits.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Strong organizational and time management abilities.

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field would be advantageous.

• Professional certification in Human Resources (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP) is preferred.
