Job Purpose

Plans, coordinates and carries out all activities to pull orders to make on time shipments each day. Working together in teams effectively, support each other to be the best we can be and treat each other with respect and dignity.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Reviews daily work orders and coordinates activities of forklift operators so material is pulled in a logical order.

  • Operates forklift to pull material per customer specification, double checking material, quantity, and tolerances with work order, and transporting order to packing line.

  • Operates overhead crane to move heavy materials and Sheet Manipulator.

  • Works with the Shipping Coordinator to resolve inventory problems and clarify unclear customer specifications.

  • Reviews QM and QS reports as they relate to material handling and researches discrepancies as needed.

  • Builds wooden skids as needed.

  • Transfers material to a four way pallet per customer specifications.

  • Conducts position specific new employee training.

  • Follows all safety instructions for operating equipment.

  • Perform all functions with an attitude of teamwork, cooperativeness, positive thinking and responsibility.

  • Be aware of when equipment requires maintenance and notify proper personnel.

  • Performs general housekeeping/clean-up tasks as needed.

  • Able to give specific verbal instructions, ie, material handlers, saw operators.

  • Works with QC to resolve any quality problems.

  • Works with shipper to expedite orders for early bird pickups.

  • Cutting skids to proper size.

  • Keep supplies in proper locations.

  • Acts as a backup for material handling.

  • Cuts old skids for recycling, using a hand held power saw.

  • Putting rod skids away.

  • Placing cardboard in isles.

  • Backup for packing lines.

  • ISO Core Team Member.

  • Knowledge of SAP Warehouse Management System.

  • Maintain Warehouse Racking.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Uses various saws, including the chop saw, roger saw, and wood saw to cut material to size.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate a forklift.

  • Ability to operate the Material Handling Machine.

  • Ability to use various measuring devices.

  • Basic math skills.

  • Familiar with production work.

  • Ability to solve problems/trouble shoot.

  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Demonstrated excellent attendance record.

  • Able to work overtime if needed.

  • Computer literate.

  • The salary for this position is $21.41. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
