Position Email & SMS Marketing Manager

Description

Reports to: Director of Ecommerce

Hybrid: Three days per week required in the Seattle SODO Office

Rate: $75,000 - $85,000

Introduction:

Join Outdoor Research, a leading name in outdoor gear, as the Email & SMS Marketing Manager. You'll be at the forefront of our digital marketing initiatives, spearheading strategies to drive acquisition, retention, and revenue through email and SMS channels. Your expertise will shape our brand's storytelling and engagement with customers while ensuring compliance and optimization across platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Campaign Management: Plan, execute, and optimize email and SMS campaigns using platforms such as Klaviyo, Sound Commerce, and Glew. Implement mobile optimization techniques to enhance user experience and engagement.

Drive Results: Achieve email/SMS revenue targets and designated KPI's such as open rate, click through rates and revenue per email.

Operational Oversight: Manage end-to-end production processes for Marketing & Transactional Emails, including list management, quality assurance/testing, scheduling, and reporting.

Retention and Acquisition Strategies: Develop and implement innovative strategies to boost customer engagement, retention, and repeat purchases. Drive acquisition efforts to expand Email & SMS databases.

Generate Creative Briefs: Take ownership of copywriting and creative direction through exemplary creative briefs, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality content that aligns with brand philosophy and resonates with our audience.

Data Analysis and Optimization: Analyze campaign performance metrics, conduct A/B tests, and deliver actionable insights to continuously improve KPIs and revenue targets. Deliver month-end re-caps with actionable insights.

Compliance and Regulation: Ensure compliance with data protection regulations such as GDPR, CANSPAM, and CCPA, maintaining high standards of data privacy and security.

Team Leadership and Collaboration: Supervise and mentor the email marketing coordinator, fostering their growth and optimizing team performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align strategies with business objectives and editorial calendars.

Segmentation Strategies: Deliver more relevant and targeted email campaigns, resulting in higher engagement, increased conversion rates, and ultimately, a stronger relationship with subscribers.

A/B Testing: Create an A/B testing schedule for subject line, creative, and send times to further optimize the email/SMS marketing program.

HTML and CSS: Expertise in HTML and CSS to create visually appealing and responsive email templates that drive engagement and click-through rates.

Position Requirements

Requirements:

  • Experience: 3+ years in Email Marketing or Digital Marketing roles, with a track record of achieving designated revenue targets and KPIs.

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in E-Commerce, Marketing, Communications, or related field.

  • Platform Proficiency: Proficiency in Klaviyo, Shopify Plus, GA4 along with familiarity with CRM platforms.

  • Experience using a Project Management platform (i.e. Asana, Monday) in your day-to-day work.

  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of HTML and CSS for email template customization and mobile optimization.

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to conduct data-driven analysis, including A/B testing, to optimize campaign performance.

  • Proofreading: Excellence in grammar and proofreading skills.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey marketing messages and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Leadership Abilities: Managerial experience is advantageous, demonstrating strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
