Amazon Web Services (“AWS”) is looking for an outstanding Senior Product Manager to join the AWS International Product Management and Region Expansion team. This is your opportunity to be a core part of the AWS team that has direct impact on global strategic decision-making.

Today, AWS serves customers from over 190 countries through 33 Regions, physical infrastructure locations around the world where we cluster data centers. From these Regions, AWS offers over 200 fully featured cloud services which redefine business agility, reduce the cost of IT infrastructure, and elevate the role of IT as an enabler of business organizations.

This person will help AWS continue to expand its business operations worldwide by determining which geographies we should consider next for new AWS Regions, and then work to ensure that our Regions are optimally serving our customers. We are looking for a seasoned professional with strong product strategy and product management experience in technology products or services.

This person will have sufficient technical skills to understand cloud technology, broadly and at the service level, unparalleled written and verbal communication skills (can clearly articulate strategy and drill into tactics), a passion for diving into details, and the ability to interact with all functions and levels in the organization. This person will also be able to identify the needs of customers, and translate those needs into prioritized business requirements that can be executed across the organization. The key strategic objectives of this role include, but are not limited to:

• Help lead the effort to continually define where, when, and how AWS will expand its operations into new geographies;

• Develop business cases, customer segmentation, competitive analysis, pricing analysis, marketing strategy, financial (P&L) models, and go-to-market strategies;

• Continually assess business performance and customer needs;

• Become the subject matter expert on specific geographies; recommend features, functionality, and tools to help customers more easily adopt AWS products and services;

• Orchestrate the successful execution of defined expansion plans across AWS business and technical teams;

• Collaborate closely with international teams to support local business initiatives.

About the team

The International Product Management Team (IPM) is responsible for overseas strategic planning, particularly as it relates to expansion, growth, and performance of AWS’s general-purpose commercial infrastructure regions.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition

  • Experience with end to end product delivery

  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product

  • Experience as a product manager or owner

  • Experience owning technology products

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in influencing senior leadership through data driven insights

  • Experience working across functional teams and senior stakeholders

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $110,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $206,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
