Description

Robert Half is searching for a Senior Network Engineer for a Public Transportation client based out of Seattle, Washington. The primary responsibility of this Sr. Network Engineer is to handle the replacement and deployment of Juniper networking hardware at various client locations from Everett, WA to Lakewood, WA. This is a long-term contract that would be hybrid, primarily onsite (10% gathering information onsite, 70% onsite for hardware configuration, 15% onsite troubleshooting equipment, and 5% remote work - subject to change based on project needs).

Job Responsibilities

• Execute tasks supporting a Network projects within various client locations and data centers supporting operations.

• Activities will include but are not limited to asset management, configuration of network hardware, discovery, identification, and documentation of racks, devices, cabling, and power.

• Troubleshoots technical problems/issues, coordinates activities with other divisions, programs and departments related to networking.

• Ensures success of network projects and tasks.

• Provides other administrative network support as directed.

  Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as a Network Engineer

• Strong communication skills and ability to communicate complex details to a technical and non-technical audience

• Proficiency with Juniper or Cisco Switching and Routing: Capacity planning & VLAN's, datacenter switching technologies, multi-chassis aggregation and link aggregation, OSPF, BGP

• Experience working with network design documents – mostly using them to engineer networking solution

• IPv4 and IPv6 experience

• Nice to Have: Prior transit systems experience
