Amazon Software Development Engineer, Selling Partner Dev Science in Seattle, Washington

Description

Amazon Selling Partner Dev Science team is looking for a talented Software Dev Engineer to build scalable machine learning and scientific modeling solutions central to merchant successes. You will have the opportunity to closely collaborate with fellow engineers and scientists and working on highly impactful projects influencing all aspects of merchant on-boarding lifecycle and building machine learning infrastructures using latest technologies.

Key job responsibilities

  • Collaborate with research and applied scientists and convert scientific prototypes into software solutions.

  • Understand business objectives, product requirements and develop software solutions that achieve them.

  • Define data and feature validation strategies.

  • Deploy models to production systems and operate them including monitoring and troubleshooting.

  • Provide ideas and alternatives to drive a product/feature.

  • Apply big-data processing techniques to process petabytes of data.

About the team

We are a unique team with embedded engineers, economists, and scientists. The close proximity of science and engineering allows us to quickly iterate on prototypes and solve complex production problems. Reflecting our broad in-house domain knowledge our machine learning model portfolio encompass a diverse approaches from econometric to neuronetwork. Our engineers are also responsible for running and building out MLOps infrastructure that efficiently hosts our machine learning models.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

  • 2+ years of big data technologies such as AWS, Hadoop, Spark, Pig, Hive, Lucene/SOLR or Storm/Samza experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

  • 2+ years of building large-scale machine-learning infrastructure for online recommendation, ads ranking, personalization or search experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
