Amazon Worldwide Advertising is one of Amazon's fastest growing and most profitable businesses. Ads Self-serve Products for Experience, Experimentation, and Developer productivity (Ads SPEED) team drives a coherent experience across Amazon Ads Console for all endemic and non-endemic advertisers and their agencies using Amazon’s marketing portfolio to grow their business and brands on and off Amazon. We enable Ad application builders across every product development cycle stage — from decisions to build, to launch and ongoing product health monitoring and troubleshooting. We have three programs – Ads Portal Foundation Systems (Ads Portal Framework, Ads Design System, Ads Portal Spoofing), Ads Portal Common Experience Systems (Ads Portal Navigation, Ads Notifications, Advertiser Feedback System) and Ads Portal Analytics & Science Framework (Telemetry, Observability, Experimentation, Insights). Our foundation charter builds common features that form the home for all Amazon Ads products and applications. It accelerates federated innovation and enables all builders to ship applications for customers globally while keeping the overall Ads Portal experience familiar. Experience charter builds and enhances marketer experiences across Ads Portal. Analytics & Science charter empowers builders to make data-informed product decisions through the next generation of analytics technologies and experimentation capabilities. It helps builders uncover the unknown by scientifically measuring customer experience at all stages of their journey within Ads self-serve and making it easily accessible.

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer (SDE) who is capable of breaking down and solving complex problems, and have a strong will to get things done! A SDE at Amazon works on world problems on a global scale. They own their products end to end and influence the direction of our product and technology which impacts hundreds of millions customers around the world. You are a hands-on, pragmatic problem solver that easily balances trade-offs between competing interests. Key job responsibilities

  • Leading ambiguous and undefined problems to resolution in the face of uncertainty.

  • Thinking big and working with leadership team, business stakeholders and software engineering teams to define vision, strategy and requirements.

  • Delivering results by driving execution of programs spanning multiple organizations from strategy to rollout.

  • Earning trust through regular communication with senior management on status, risks and change control.

  • Effectively cooperate with customers, technical staff and leaders, business leaders and executives in different geographical locations to define and deliver complex features.

  • Ability to make sense of ambiguity, define and plan programs in a fast paced and highly-technical organization, and secure buy in from internal and external stakeholders

  • Effectively manage cross functional initiatives, dependencies and bottlenecks, provide escalations management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, balance the business need versus technical constraints and minimize business benefit while building great customer experience

  • Be an effective collaborator in a cross functional team of SDMs, TPMs, PMs, FEEs, SDEs, Scientists, and PEs

  • Own all operational metrics for your product

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
