Amazon Software Development Manager, AM Tools, Seller Partner Recruitment & Success in Seattle, Washington

We are seeking a seasoned Software Development Manager to lead a talented team to develop world class tools that improve the productivity and outcome of WW sales and AM teams so that these teams can focus on the customer and help them drive their business while Amazon can deploy our people in areas that are strategic and complex. Finally we will utilize our learnings from managed sellers to scale our ability to drive success for unmanaged sellers.

As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our operations, driving innovation and customer satisfaction. This technical leader will be someone that approaches complex business questions with data and curiosity, and dives below the surface to identify the root cause and "so what" rather than just superficial trends.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of software engineers in the design, development, and delivery of scalable and reliable software solutions.

  • Drive the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for productivity tools used by the sales and account management team.

  • Drive the exploration and implementation of science and AI-driven solutions to automate low-value add work and help our people find/drive high-value opportunities.

  • Utilize insights and learnings from managed sellers to develop strategies and tools that can be scaled to accelerate growth for unmanaged sellers, maximizing their potential on the platform and driving overall business success.

  • Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, and other engineering teams to define product requirements and deliver high-impact features.

  • Champion best practices in software development, including code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).

  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the team, promoting continuous learning and professional development.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience

  • 7+ years of engineering experience

  • 7+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience

  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

  • Experience managing a team of high calibre Software Engineers developing complex, world class, scalable software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
