AWS Applications and Higher Level Abstractions (Apps) provides horizontal and industry vertical applications for business users with the same on-demand scalability, reliability, pay-as-you-go pricing, and machine learning expertise that drive AWS services. The AWS Applications group includes services such as Amazon Connect (a cost-effective cloud contact center), our End User Computing (including Amazon Workspaces, AppStream, etc.), Marketing Tech (Amazon Pinpoint), and Autonomous Checkout and Biometric Identity Services (Just Walk Out, Amazon One) for retail, sports, travel, and other verticals.

The Network Product team owns the end-to-end operational lifecycle for a new AWS product based on the Just Walk Out business. We are looking for a Sr. BIE who can lead our growing team to solve complex problems and build scalable solutions across a wide range of internal customers.

Key job responsibilities

-Lead the design, implementation and delivery of complex BI solutions.

-Proactively work to improve consistency and integration between our solutions and related artifacts

-Influence team strategy and contribute to prioritization by identifying and resolving BI architecture deficiencies

-Lead design reviews for BI solutions and take ownership of outcomes

-Influence technical decisions of other teams by defining and defending BI best practices

-Hire and mentor additional BIEs as our team grows

About the team

AWS Apps - Network Product is a new team at Amazon that is building on the success of Just Walk Out. The NetProd BI team supports all aspects of Network Product including customer pipelines, project management, supply chain management, software engineering/operational excellence, vendor/field service dispatch and ad-hoc investigations or experiments.

Basic Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional or military experience

• 5+ years of SQL experience

• Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets

• Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results

• Experience with AWS technologies

• Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.

• Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs

• Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
