General Motors Senior System Engineer, SW Architect in Shanghai, China

Job Description

The Role:

We are looking for experienced and motivated candidates for the role of Senior Software Architect of ADAS domain controllers.

As the lead of software architect, you will comprehensively manage the software architecture related works. You and your team members will be responsible for the high-level software architecture, software architecture of subsystems, and other works related such as partition management, deploy management, resource management, software requirement, etc.

This role requires rich experience in ADAS mass production, as well as a wide range of knowledge and a deep understanding of the overall and subsystems of ADAS.

What you'll do:

  • Design the overall software architecture from top to bottom based on project requirements; Architecture should include but not be limited to static architecture, dynamic architecture, key technology selection, deployment design, resource design, etc;

  • Lead software architects to improve the design of software architecture for each subsystem;

  • Review technical solutions and drive suppliers and teams to implement them together;

  • Responsible for investigating and resolving system level issues, such as high load issues, high latency issues, low frame rate issues, random crashes, etc.;

  • Work closely with validation team to implement highly automated bench test framework and continuously enrich test cases to improve test coverage;

  • Work closely with FuSa team to make the implementation of safety requirements more smoothly and more comprehensive.

Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduated from top 50 universities in China;

  • 10+ years of software development experience in the automotive electronics industry;

  • Deep understanding of ADAS systems and experience in designing and implementing ADAS software architecture;

  • Experience in ADAS software subsystems design, including but not limited to power management, diagnostic;

  • Communication, startup, logging, time sync, sensor input, deterministic scheduling, OTA, shadow mode, data logging, etc.;

  • Proficient in operating systems commonly used in the automotive industry, especially Linux and QNX;

  • Experiences in big-scale software platform development, strong ability to quickly understand code from various aspects, such like module allocation, module interaction, module logic, etc.

  • Familiar with chipsets used in ADAS/AD, such as TDA4 series, Orin series, J3/J5/J6 series, Aurix TC3xx series, etc.;

  • Proficient in debugging tactics and adept at using various debugging tools such as gdb, tracelogger, dumper, valgrind, etc.;

  • Familiar with Electronic and Electrical Architecture, including but not limited to CAN network, Ethernet network, vehicle power management, diagnostic, Some/IP protocol, etc.
