Abbott Ireland Diabetes Care Division

The Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC) division manufactures FreeStyle blood glucose test strips and FreeStyle Sensors for use in diabetes management. Among Abbott Diabetes Care leading brands are the FreeStyle Precision, FreeStyle Lite and FreeStyle Libre system.

Reporting to the Senior ADC Third Party Manufacturing (TPM) Quality Manager the successful candidate will drive Quality improvements and provide Quality oversights within the ADC TPM organisation through cross functional projects and embracing a continuous improvement mindset.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide Quality oversight and improvements for Third Party Manufacture process and quality control plans.

  • Lead and maintain Supplier Management and Monitoring processes.

  • Implement and maintain an effective Quality System within the Third-Party Manufacturing.

  • Ensure appropriate Quality Management System and process controls at the Third Party Manufacturer to produce high quality material and products.

  • Ensure quality systems are in a continuous state of Audit Readiness by routinely challenging established processes and establishing effective Audit and Compliance Programs.

  • Lead and implement QA strategic, continuous improvement and compliance initiatives.

  • Using problem solving tools, conduct and support investigations as they arise from product complaints or other sources from the quality system ensuring root cause is determined and appropriate CAPA actions implemented.

  • Monitors compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. compliance with FDA, BSI regulations, etc.). Supports audits and regulatory inspections, readiness, and associated actions.

  • Measure and improve key elements of the Quality System which assures compliance with Abbott Corporate and Division Quality Policies and Procedures. Provide sustaining metrics for management, supplier review meetings and monthly Abbott meetings. Provide recommendations for improvement based on interpretation of data.

  • Liase with ADC external & internal facing compliance groups, proactively communicating quality issues to Third Party Manufacturers, through supplier quality system audits, supplier corrective action requests, and communication processes.

  • Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration Third Party manufactures.

  • Possess excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work to deadlines and provide innovative solutions.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field Engineering /Science field, preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years relevant work experience
