South Shore, Cape Cod & the Islandss with lumber & specialty building materials from its six locations in the southern coastal region of Massachusetts. . The Credit Clerk is responsible for the credit collection process & other routine office duties; may assist the Credit Manager in some of these functions. This position has direct reporting responsibility to the Finance Manager or the Credit Manager where appropriate. Essential Job Duties: Review & approve all requests for credit using appropriate company guidelines. Handle all accounts receivable collections for assigned location. Make contact & take appropriate action to collect on all NSF checks. Assist in Accounts receivable, cash receipts/collections & daily deposit. Prepare & distribute all monthly statement of accounts. Handle all reporting, filing, & collections paperwork on a timely basis. Monitor status & progress of all trip/travel programs. Enforce all aspects of company credit policy while h&ling various duties & responsibilities of the position. Assist with other accounting & administrative duties as assigned. Cross-train as required in other areas. Complies with Company?s attendance policy by maintaining regular & predictable attendance. Other duties as assigned by location management REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: Minimum education required - High school or GED Minimum experience required - 1-2 years office administration including accounting related duties. Some experience in credit collections preferred. Special skills/knowledge required - Ability to handle interpersonal conflict, strong verbal & written skills, & ability to pursue collections as needed to meet goals of company. Working knowledge of collections & lien holder laws. Confidentiality requirement--high Other - Computer literate in applicable software & hardware applications. Physical demands include lift up to 25 lbs. frequently & 50 lbs. on a random basis, standing, walking or sitting for extended periods of time, & bending or stooping.
