Children's Cove, Inc Community Programs Coordinator in South Yarmouth, Massachusetts

The Community Programs Coordinator role is to raise awareness of the mission of the agency, develop and coordinate volunteers, and support child abuse prevention initiatives in the community. This position supports or develops positive working relationships with public and private schools, daycares, hospitals, community agencies, community groups, and utilize volunteers to expand reach. The Community Programs Coordinator will work collaboratively with community organizations to participate in informational and outreach events, provide prevention education and awareness about child sexual abuse to the community and engage in targeted outreach efforts for under-represented communities. Candidates should be an energized, detail-oriented and flexible person with knowledge of best practices related to cases of child abuse and the Child Advocacy Center model. Excellent communication and presentation skills are needed. This is a grant-funded, full-time position with a starting salary of \$57,097, and a comprehensive benefits package. Community Engagement Clearly communicates Children?s Cove?s mission, vision and values to the community and partner agencies. Seeks opportunities to collaborate with community organizations to participate in health fairs, informational booths, and other relevant outreach events. Works collaboratively with Children?s Cove staff to represent the CAC at public events / community meetings. Broadens the understanding to the community of the importance of Children?s Cove services and programs through targeted outreach across the Cape and Islands and engage in direct outreach efforts for under-represented communities. Networking/relationship building with partner and outside agencies and market and promote the agency educational offerings, schedule events and provide tours on a consistent basis. Education and Training Provides education specific to child sexual abuse and best practices of prevention in the community for families. EDUCATION: Minimum of bachelor?s degree from an accredited university in related field. 1-3 years? experience in community outreach and engagement, providing education and training, and/or volunteer management or similar profession. Must have knowledge and experience working with children and child maltreatment; or equivalent combination of experience and education. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge of child and family development, child sexual abuse, physical abuse, child exploitation and trafficking and the Child Advocacy Center model. Knowledge of social, cultural, medical, legal, and mental health issues involved in this field. Knowledge of MS Office platforms and social media platforms Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation is necessary. Knowledge of public relations and communications Children?s Cove is a department of Barnstable County which provides the multi-disciplinary response to child sexual abuse, severe physical abuse, witness to domestic violence and commercial sexual exploitation of children.
