As a member of VCA Maple Ridge, you will support technician and doctor teams by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients. Your mission will be to win the confidence of every pet parent—by delivering an outstanding client experience—so we can provide exceptional care to every patient.
You have worked hard for your credentials (CVT, RVT, LVT) and we want you to use the knowledge that you have invested your time and talent in. The skills that you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to:
Perform more complex patient care including, but not limited to medication administration (SQ, IV, oral, topical, IM); nutrition recommendations.
Communicate with team and with clients (including client education without supervision).
Monitor anesthesia patient trends, recognizing abnormal values, and extubating patients.
Safely and responsibly position pets for diagnostic imaging and obtaining diagnostic-quality images.
Perform professional dental cleanings under supervision.
Fill prescriptions including controlled substances based on hospital guidelines and state regulations.
Perform laboratory work including broader knowledge of tests and abnormal cells, in-house cytology, and sending out special-order tests.
Provide technician appointments for clients (as applicable).
Mentor and help develop other Associates.
Other responsibilities as assigned, such as respond to emergencies under direction.
The salary range for this position is $18-$22 / hour
