The Toxics Cleanup Program{rel="nofollow"} (TCP) within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill a Senior Upper Columbia River Toxicologist (Toxicologist 3) *position. This position is located in our Eastern Region Office (ERO) in Spokane, WA.{rel="nofollow"} Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station.   As the Senior Upper Columbia River Toxicologist, you'll provide expertise and technical support on human health toxicology and risk assessment and contribute to updates to the Model Toxics Control Act{rel="nofollow"} (MTCA), Washington's cleanup rule. In this role, you will also be responsible for coordinating all major aspects of State involvement in the potential designation of the Upper Columbia River/Lake Roosevelt (UCR) as a National Priority List (NPL; Superfund) cleanup site. You'll also serve as a representative for the State of Washington Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA) Trustee Council, and as a lead on significant projects, including the upland and aquatic baseline ecological risk assessments, remedial investigation/feasibility study processes, state technical lead and coordinator on complex environmental litigation, and more. *Agency Mission: *Ecology's mission is to protect, preserve and enhance the environment for current and future generations.   *Program Mission: *The mission of the Toxics Cleanup Program (TCP) is to protect Washington's human health and the environment by preventing and cleaning up pollution and supporting sustainable communities and natural resources for the benefit of future and current generations.   *Tele-work options for this position: *This position will have flexibility of a hybrid schedule, empowering work from home and office, providing less time in traffic and shrinking your carbon footprint.
