    About the Role:

    As an Engineering Technician II, you will directly support the Combat and Integration and Identification Systems Division (IKS) located in Saint Inigoes, MD (NAVAIR Webster Airfield), and will perform a wide variety of electronics-based tasking in support of the U.S. Navy’s Fleet Modernization Program and the ISEA for the AN/UPX-29(V) Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) system. You must be able to travel domestically and internationally.

  • Inspecting, testing, and certifying basic circuit boards and systems for compliance with system test requirements during

  • Troubleshooting malfunctions using applicable drawings, knowledge of electronics theory, and test equipment such as multi-meters, cable testers, oscilloscopes, and synchro testers.

  • Travel to interesting locations such as San Diego, California; Rota, Spain; Yokosuka, Japan; Norfolk, Virginia; Mayport, Florida, and more.

  • Performing IFF system assessments such as ALOA’s, CSSQT’s, and MCA’s.

  • Supporting IFF Mode 5 and Mode S system upgrades on board Navy ships or land-based sites.

  • Answering a call for an On-Board Technical Assistance (OBTA).

  • Communicating with ship’s force, government customers, and BAE Systems project leads in a professional manner.

  • Teach and assist IFF technicians of all skill levels with a positive attitude and a willingness to invest in the future of our expanding company.

    Must haves:

  • High School diploma and at least 4 years of related experience.

  • Current Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain.

  • Prior experience working with an oscilloscope.

  • Ability to read and follow engineering drawings, work instructions, and test procedures.

  • Ability to climb aloft on-board U.S. Navy vessels and lift/carry heavy objects.

  • Working knowledge of basic electronic theory.

  • Experience troubleshooting electronic systems, aligning and adjusting electronic equipment and components.

  • Experience with basic electronic test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, megohmmeters, synchro testers, and VSWR testers.

    Contract Specific Experience

  • Experience with shipboard, aircraft, or ground based IFF systems.

  • Navy NEC 1572 AIMS technician and/or NEC 1571 AN/UPX-29(V) Ship System Maintainer, or NAVY NEC V06B AN/UPX-29(V) Ship System Maintainer, or other service equivalent.

  • Computer troubleshooting and maintenance experience.

  • Certified Solder Technician specializing in SMT, lead-free, and through-the-hole.

  • Certified Quality Assurance Inspector for Solder and cable fabrication.

  • Cable fabrication certification.

  • Knowledge of ISO 9000 standards.

  • Familiar with Lean Six Sigma methodologies.

  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) - Maritime (OSHA 1915) training certification.

  • Knowledge of RMMCO Alteration Installation Team (AIT) check-in/checkout process or Fleet Modernization Program processes.

    Applicant must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain a security clearance.
