Main purpose of job:

The IT Systems Administrator provides daily support and ensures the health of server and network infrastructure and will serve as an escalation point for end user support issues that have not been resolved by the global desktop support team. The Server Support Administrator contributes to the maintenance of the IT Asset Register for both hardware and software and has responsibilities for all aspects of IT Infrastructure security.

Primary Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The essential duties and responsibilities include the following but other duties may be assigned.

  • Work closely with the Associate Director IT Infrastructure EU and Global Sr. IT Director of Infrastructure to develop and implement plans & strategies for the enhancement, simplification, and modernization of the computer infrastructure in support of the business and global IT strategy.

  • Work as part of the global infrastructure team in support of the global IT infrastructure (on premise and cloud hosted).

  • Support the global cyber team with the deployment of updates or security/antivirus tools to the global infrastructure.

  • Intermediate to advanced administration and monitoring of PCI VMWare, Veeam and SAN environments.

  • Intermediate to advanced administration and monitoring of PCI Windows and Linux based servers and systems.

  • Intermediate to advanced administration and monitoring of PCI Cloud based infrastructure.

  • Administration and support of PCI network infrastructure with guidance from the IT Network and Cloud Engineering Team.

  • Management of specified user and computer objects in Active Directory.

  • Support the install of local server hardware and software.

  • Supports the local IT Business Continuity planning and annual disaster recovery testing.

  • To provide mentorship to the local helpdesk/desktop support technician.

  • Respond to end user issues that have escalated from the helpdesk/desktop technician.

  • Will lead some Infrastructure projects

  • Support new user and user change requests.

  • Supports IT based management of change requests via the global quality management system.

  • Responsible for the server backup operation for the local site.

  • Authors local/global IT Standard Operations Procedures and work instructions.

  • Support desktop and server software licensing within owned limits.

  • Support Customer Audits where applicable

  • Provide out of hours support where deemed necessary and appropriate.

  • Other duties as requested

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and/or 1-5 years related experience and/or training.

  • Basic Mathematical Skills

  • Intermediate Computer Skills: Ability to perform more complex computer tasks and has knowledge of various computer programs.

  • Full Professional Proficiency: Ability to speak, read, and write fluently and accurately on all levels pertinent to professional needs.

  • Very High Reasoning: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in math or diagram form and deal with several abstract/concrete variables.
