Waltonen Accounting Specialist in Sterling Heights, Michigan
Waltonen Engineering is actively seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our team!
Responsibilities
Execute Cost Accounting processes for labor collection, rate development and labor distribution.
Prepare batch processing reconciliations to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Perform analytical procedures to reconcile and validate accuracy of labor cost distribution.
Prepare and process monthly labor journals and provide applicable accounts reconciliations.
Run weekly reports to monitor unapproved timesheets and uphold SOX controls.
Provide payroll processing support to SRI.
Support user inquiries.
Qualifications
3 to 5 years experience
Comfortable working with computer applications and financial systems. Oracle/ERP system experience is a plus.
Attention to detail for processing activities; Strong analytical skills for monitoring.
Good communication skills and ability to interact professionally with all levels of a diverse global workforce.
Ability to prioritize and multi-task to meet deadlines
Discipline to follow procedures and comply with internal control requirements
Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Access) knowledge
Availability to work casual overtime if needed
Understanding of Government Cost Accounting Standards, Federal Acquisition Regulations and accounting for long term contracts requirements is beneficial
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Successfully pass required pre-employment drug screen and background check
