JOB REQUIREMENTS: This position is responsible for cooking, proportioning, and delivering snacks and meals to the YMCA Child Care classrooms. Provide a clean and healthy working environment within the licensing regulations of the State of Wisconsin. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Position requires employee to retrieve, proportion, and deliver all meals and snacks to classrooms. Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen area by washing dishes, keeping kitchen area clean and organized, store refrigerator and freezer items properly. Maintain inventory by submitting inventory form. Inform maintenance of any repairs in kitchen area. RESPONSIBILITES: Breakfast and Lunch 1. Proportion and deliver food to classrooms. Separate meals for children with special allergies, etc. 2. Post menu in the kitchen 3. Dispose of all leftover food 4. Wash all dishes 5. Establish and maintain a safe and healthy environment in the kitchen through room arrangement and organization Snack 1. Plan, prepare, and deliver all snacks 2. Keep track of inventory 3. Order and assist with purchasing of all food needed 4. Wash all snack dishes Other Duties 1. Attend staff meetings, staff trainings, orientation and in-service of 4 hours per year of kitchen sanitation and food handling, provided by the YMCA. 2. Establish positive and productive relationships with staff, children, and families. 3. Support and supervise volunteers assigned to assist in the kitchen. 4. Comply with state licensing regulations as well as YMCA quality standards. Adhere to OSHA standards and guidelines. 5. Perform other duties as assigned. Maintain food and equipment inventories, and keep inventory records. Schedule and receive food and beverage deliveries, checking delivery contents to verify product quality and quantity. Plan menus and food utilization, based on anticipated number of guests, nutritional value, palatability, popularity, and costs. Establish and enforce nutritional standards for dining establishments, based on accepted industry standards. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Skills: This position requires the ability to work independently, strong organization skills, knowledge of proper food handling, cleaning and sanitation. Substitution of comparable training or abilities will be taken into consideration. Competencies: Position requires high energy level and ability to work in an active environment. Must be able to lift, carry, load, and push food boxes and trays (up to 50 pounds). Must exhibit the Y core values of respect, responsibility, honesty and caring. Certifications: CPR w/AED and First Aid certification within 60 days of hire. Valid driver\'s license and comfortable driving company vehicle is preferred.
