Your Role in Keeping the Future in Safe Hands…

As the Divisional Head of M&A for the Global solutions division of ASSA ABLOY, you will have the opportunity to lead in our organisation’s merger and acquisition strategies, identifying potential business opportunities, and driving growth through partnerships and collaborations.

Reporting to our Executive Vice President and Head of Global Solutions, this is a senior leadership role and will form part of the executive management team. You will work closely with the executive team to set and execute business strategies, building and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders. Whilst also providing informed recommendations and insights on potential partnerships and acquisitions.

What you will do…

  • Lead, drive and execute the acquisition strategy for the division, and ensure this is aligned with ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions business strategy.

  • Train and support the Business Areas to secure a continuous flow of bolt-on acquisitions and ensure that a deal flow is generated.

  • Lead and manage the full acquisition process, as well as identifying key acquisition candidates.

  • Co-ordinate commercial, environmental, financial, and legal due diligence for all acquisitions, along with arranging and managing any third-party advisors.

  • Manage and co-ordinate the integration process post-acquisition, co-ordinating teams and ensuring resource is allocate accordingly to complete the integration requirements.

  • Build and engage the team to support with the inorganic growth ambition of the 5 years plan of the division.

  • Prepare and present reports and recommendations, along with financial projections to senior leadership and stakeholders to support in decision-making.

  • Remain up to date with industry trends and market conditions in order to make informed decisions and drive successful outcomes. With a particular focus and awareness of any market developments that relate to any of the Global Solutions different Business Areas and evaluate potential new verticals entry for Global Solutions.

  • Co-ordinate and lead cross-functional teams throughout the M&A process, managing risk and identifying any potential roadblocks, overseeing and ensuring contingency plans are implemented to combat any challengers.

    What we expect of you…

  • Ideally Academic degree in finance (and preferably a MBA). With a solid understanding of accounting, financial analysis & modelling, tax planning and corporate law.

  • At least ten years’ experience of strategy development and M&A.

  • Proven experience of In-house M&A responsibility for a larger corporation and end-to-end experience from leading M&A processes; With hands-on project leadership experience of M&A and integration processes.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build and maintain productive relationships with all levels, including executive and senior level management.

  • Proven background in working in a decentralized matrix organization, with geographically dispersed and multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Competent and confident leader who leads by example, with the ability to motivate and inspire others, make tough decisions, and navigate complex situations, is crucial.

  • Strong stakeholders’ management abilities, with a clear executive stature, to be able to represent the Company effectively with major acquisition targets and external organizations.

  • Analytical approach, with a strong business acumen, and all-round business executive characteristics.

  • Fluent in English; proficiency in a Scandinavian language is preferred.

  • Preferred location is in Stockholm, Sweden but other locations are a possibility. Significant international travel is required.
