In this role, you will be planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. Candidate must lead with integrity and reliability and have the ability to manage self and others with urgency, practicality and accountability when providing client services. What you get to do every day

  • Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management

  • Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective

  • Evaluate, apply and refine policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis

  • Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

  • Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts

  • Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports

  • Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time

  • Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed

  • Review and revise deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations

  • Direct finance department activities, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll Requirements - Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

  • Proven knowledge of budget forecasting

  • Accounts Receivable (AR) experience preferred

  • Well-founded grasp of general ledger

  • Financial statement preparation experience

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Analyze Financial Statements

  • Month end closings experience

  • General familiarity with Month-end Journal Entries

  • Payroll experience

  • Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • CPA/MBA preferred

  • Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

  • Be detailed, flexible, and organized

  • Progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis

  • Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

  • Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
