What this job involves: As a Heating Air Conditioning / Refrigeration Manager you will oversee and manage a team of HVAC/R technicians responsible for repairing, and maintaining heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for commercial, and industrial property. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of HVAC systems while providing exceptional customer service.What your day-to-day will look like:
Manage, supervise and coordinate the activities of the HVAC team, including assigning tasks, scheduling work, and ensuring timely completion of projects.
Monitor and inspect HVAC equipment and repairs to ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and regulations.
Troubleshoot complex HVAC problems and provide guidance and support to technicians in diagnosing and resolving issues.
Conduct regular inspections of HVAC systems to identify potential problems and recommend preventive maintenance measures.
Train and mentor HVAC technicians, providing guidance on proper installation techniques, equipment operation, and repair procedures.
Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders and provide technical expertise and recommendations.
Stay updated with industry advancements, new technologies, and best practices in HVAC systems to ensure the team's skills and knowledge are up to date.
Manage inventory of HVAC equipment, tools, and supplies, ensuring availability for scheduled projects and repairs.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment for the team.Work Schedule: Dayshift, Monday through FridayDesired or preferred experience and technical skills:
Completion of a technical or vocational HVAC program is preferred.
Experience in biopharmaceutical, research or maintenance operations is highly desirable.Required Skills and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
EPA Universal Certification
Proven experience as an HVAC technician, with at least 10+ years of experience in commercial and industrial HVAC systems.
Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role, demonstrating the ability to manage and guide a team of HVAC technicians.
Valid HVAC technician license or certification as required by local regulations.
Knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
Proficient in using HVAC diagnostic tools and equipment.
Ability to be on-call and work during various weather conditions and/or events.
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Strong technical knowledge of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, including the repair, and maintenance of chillers and cooling towers.
Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of HVAC technicians.
Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities to diagnose complex HVAC issues and provide effective solutions.
Solid understanding of safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards related to HVAC systems.
Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with clients, contractors, and team members.
Proficient in interpreting blueprints, technical manuals, and specifications related to HVAC systems.
Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of Building Automation software and tools for diagnostics and system analysis.
Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong customer service skills to resolve client concerns and provide exceptional service.
