Google Group Product Manager, Custom Processor in Sunnyvale, California

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.

  • 10 years of experience in product management, defining and developing X86 or ARM processors.

  • 5 years of experience building and shipping technical products.

  • Experience with processor architectures and processor firmware development, taking processors from concept to production.

  • Experience defining product requirements for data centers at a cloud provider, ISP, or telco.

  • Experience with open source hardware development principles.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in managing global teams with business and time to market goals.

  • Experience leading key strategic decisions that changed and/or influenced the direction of the company.

  • Experience in data centers computes product management (e.g., hardware and software), distributed systems, technology deployment, and computer sciences.

  • Experience leading and driving directions for open source, standard technology, and cloud forums.

  • Knowledge of CapEx/OpEx models and the ability to make build, buy, and partner decisions.

We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

As the Product Manager for Custom Processor, you will define, lead, and align others on a strategic product roadmap for Google’s compute infrastructure.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $214,000-$305,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Partner with engineering leads to define the long-term strategy and roadmap for Google's custom processor silicon, aligning with broader company goals and the needs.

  • Collaborate with Google's silicon design teams as well as Google internal Product Areas to identify high-impact capabilities suitable for in-house development. Facilitate the project proposal and selection process, ensuring quality, feasibility, and alignment with strategic goals.

  • Work closely with engineering to define detailed requirements and performance of the custom processors.

  • Define key success metrics and track progress throughout the program. Analyze results, identify areas of improvement, and communicate insights to stakeholders.
