Amazon Senior DevOps Engineer, Blink in Sunnyvale, California

Description

If you are an experienced DevOps engineer with AWS experience and a desire to design and operate systems at a large scale, we want to talk with you. In this role, you will be part of a group of engineers that are responsible for the Cloud Services that enable the Blink product line. You will be involved in the scaling, deployment, and monitoring of these services, and you will be asked to design/implement new services for new features and products. Most importantly, you will focus on the best ways to delight our customers.

Key job responsibilities

  • Deploy, monitor, and support the AWS Cloud component of the Blink home security system

  • Design and implement tools that build and deploy infrastructure and services residing in multiple AWS regions around the world

  • Develop tools that are used by our internal engineering and customer service teams as they build, enhance, and support current and new products

  • Monitor service health, perform log analysis, and automate recovery

  • Work with the latest AWS technology and tools with access to all of Amazon’s internal resources

  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation. Each engineer is on-call for a week, every eight weeks

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure

  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust

  • Experience building services using AWS products

  • Knowledge of database systems and SQL

  • Experience with Linux/Unix

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with distributed systems at scale

  • Experience with ECS, EC2, RDS, Cloud formation, CDK, VPC, Lambda, S3, Route 53, Kinesis, SQS, SNS

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
