Robert Half Staff Accountant in Sunrise, Florida
Description An up-and-coming firm has teamed up with Robert Half to find an efficient Staff Accountant to join their growing team. As a Staff Accountant, you'll be responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will have charge over many aspects of internal reporting. In addition, you'll be in communication with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, participating in compliance, and reviewing schedules for the reporting processes. This position involves a good deal of time spent on producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Key responsibilities
Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Offer descriptions of a large number of financial data and communicate insights in a useful and understandable manner
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings
Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules Requirements - Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired
Experience with Ledger Reconciliations
Cash reconciliations experience
Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)
Strong familiarity with bank reconciliations
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Skilled with ERP systems
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Great attention to detail
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
