Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Sr. Electrical Engineer to join our client locally in Vancouver. This is a permanent, full-time role that requires on-site work. The successful candidate must have a minimum of 8-years of experience and must possess their Professional Engineering or P.Eng accreditation. You will be leading and executing the control system design development of new hydrogen fueling stations, as well as upgrading current stations already in the operation. The successful candidate must have strong experience working with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) programming in addition to AutoCAD for design. They should have strong experience within control systems development for medium to large sized systems. You will also working with electrical schematics, single line diagrams, cable schedules, primarily consisting of low-voltage controls. Projects will begin in the proposal stage and then progress through design, fabrication, testing and lastly production prior to delivery to client. You will be a key contributor during the proposal and design phases and then working alongside technicians, fabricators, and electricians to provide direction and technical input for the fabrication and testing of the units. This is a client facing role which requires excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Skills and Requirements

• A minimum of 8-years of experience

• Hold a Professional Engineer or P.Eng accreditation

• Extensive PLC and HMI Programming experience

• AutoCAD programming experience for design

• Experience creating HAZOP studies for hydrogen fueling station installation

• Low-voltage electrical experience working with motor control circuits, electrical controls systems and cabinet designs

• Industrial Automation - High pressure gas experience preferably with hydrogen null
