SUNY Upstate Medical University Assistant Director of Nursing for Perioperative Services in Syracuse, New York

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Deputy Director of Nursing for Perioperative Services, the Assistant Director of Nursing for Perioperative Services assumes responsibility and accountability for planning, organizing and overseeing Sterile Processing at Downtown, Community, 550 Harrison Center and Scope Processing, Operating rooms at 5E, 3N, Cancer center, Community and at 550 Harrison Street reporting through Perioperative Services. Specific duties include management and evaluation of clinical operations, customer and staff satisfaction, quality management, standards, certification and accreditation activities, professional practice activities, nursing staff education, and developing community relationships.

Minimum Qualifications:

NYS licensed/registered (or eligible) Registered Nurse required. Bachelors degree in Nursing or Masters degree in Nursing required. Minimum of 5 years relevant post RN licensure experience in an ambulatory or acute care setting to include a combination of 2 years of nursing management, supervisory, or advanced practice experience required. Excellent written/oral communication, leadership, organizational, interpersonal and analytical skills required. CPR-BLS certification required by time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's Degree preferred. Experience in managing a perioperative/operating room setting preferred.

Monday-Friday, days
