Syracuse University Research Assistant I in Syracuse, New York

This full-time research assistant position is critical to research conducted in the Minority Stress & Trauma Lab. Specific projects involve a sample of victimized SMW where we will examine the preliminary efficacy of an expressive writing intervention and test a model in which minority stressors predict physiological stress reactivity which in turn predict PTSD symptoms and alcohol use and related outcomes (e.g., alcohol craving). Other studies involve conducting a needs assessment of local LGBTQ+ survivors, LGBTQ+ Veterans, and interviewing providers.

Work will include collecting physiological, cross-sectional, longitudinal, and qualitative data, running lab participants, managing IRB protocols, helping with grant management, training participants, managing email, paying and retaining participants, coordinating weekly lab meetings, assisting with submitting research findings for conferences and peer-reviewed publications, and translating research findings into clinical practice. Work with Dr. Scheer to coordinate grant milestones, contribute to annual grant reports, and conduct research with an interdisciplinary team.
