Job Summary:Responsible for the coordination and scheduling of invasive radiology guided procedures for Interventional Radiology, Computerized Axial Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Ultrasound and Diagnostic Imaging, including complex cases such as Interventional Radiology studies, CT/MR's with Anesthesia, and Biopsies. Will serve as a liaison to other departments, including Medical and Surgical Services, University Dialysis, Regional Oncology, and the Veteran's Administration Hospital and coordinate with multiple patient care and testing areas (AP1, Anesthesiology, etc). Instructs patients and physician offices regarding prep instructions for patients and ensures that proper documentation (insurance authorizations, physician orders, lab work, History and Physicals) is complete and timely prior to scheduling cases. Coordinates beds for outpatient procedures in conjunction with the radiology schedules. To perform daily tasks, must be proficient in information systems including Hospital Information System, Radiology Information System, CAIS, PACs and utilize ECCOProf, MS Word, Excel and Power Point. Will assist supervisor with QA projects and perform support duties as required.
Associates degree and two years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. The ability to manage multiple priorities, excellent communication, ability to work independently and computer skills also required. Knowledge of medical terminology and medical scheduling experience preferred.
Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week.
