This role in summary

As a Cloud Security Engineer you will enable the organizations to design and implement secure workloads and cloud infrastructure in our multi-cloud environment. You will be proficient in aspects of cloud security including identity and access management, data protection, network security, application security, organizational policies and structure. With that proficiency you will collaborate with the security operations teams and design/implement procedures and tools to meet their needs in keeping our cloud environment secure. As the subject matter expert of cloud security you will represent cybersecurity in many different forums to internal cybersecurity teams and larger global IT divisions.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Design and drive cloud security strategy, tooling and cloud-specific secure practices.

  • Provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise for securing assets in the cloud (IaaS, Paas, and SaaS)

  • Represent cloud security to stakeholders in multiple forums that include cloud topics.

  • Provide input and recommendations on cloud cybersecurity policies, risks and overall best practices.

  • Ensure that our cloud security practices, strategy and tools meet all industry regulations, standards and compliance requirements.

  • Provide cloud security tool subject matter expertise and train cybersecurity operations on their usage to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Drive improvements to our cloud security posture and reduce overall organizational risk.

  • Assist with security awareness initiatives and training pertaining to cloud security topics.

  • Design/develop automation & incorporate CI/CD processes across our cloud environment

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in computer science, computer engineering, information systems or equivalent.

  • 2+ years of information technology, with a background in cloud security engineering

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both technology/development and business partners.

  • Strong relationship, team building and facilitation skills.

  • Ability to independently influence others to achieve objectives.

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Knowledge of information security management frameworks (example: ISO 27001/NIST CSF).

  • High level of personal integrity, and the ability to professionally handle confidential matters and show an appropriate level of judgment and maturity.

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Security certifications to include: CISSP, CISM, CCSP, CCSK.

  • Cloud certifications to include:AWS Practitioner, AWS Solution Architect, AWS Security Specialty, GCP Cloud Digital Leader, GCP Cloud engineer, GCP Cloud Security Engineer.

  • Master's degree in a management, scientific, technical, or engineering field.

  • Solid experience with cloud.

  • 1+ years of cloud security architecture and threat modeling.
