Google Software Engineer, Risk and Compliance Engineering, Core in São Paulo, Brazil

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 1 year of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, JavaScript).

  • Ability to communicate in English fluently, as the role requires interactions with English speakers stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.

  • Experience developing accessible technologies.

  • Experience developing large scale systems, with large data processing and/or complex UX flows with a lot of users.

  • Experience with Java and TypeScript.

As a Software Engineer, you'll be able to develop a new product within an organization that's already driving a big impact to the company, by keeping our users safe, calculating risk and compliance indicators, among others. You'll have opportunities to work on all parts of the stack and learn the main pieces of technologies available at Google, from processing large amounts of data in a reliable and efficient manner with close interaction with our Product Management and UX team.

The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.

  • Establish and follow software development best practices and a robust engineering culture.

  • Participate in the definition, design, and development of the next generation of Alphabet's risk and compliance products.

  • Learn the main technologies in Google's software development stack.

  • Work closely with our UX team to ensure our products reflect Product Excellence and are accessible.
