The Supervisor Controller will coordinate and perform month end related activities relating to the Record-to-report process, financial reporting requirements to ensure that it is in accordance with the local GAAP and USGAAP requirements. This role will oversee accounting, account payable and account receivable activities, also support tax and treasury teams, the focus will be the country activities, but it will oversee some activities for the LATAM region. Provide controllership and system (SAP) business partner services to the LATAM functional and business areas, as well as being the focal point for third-party partners, including external auditors.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and perform month end related activities relating to the Record-to-report process, financial reporting requirements to ensure that it is in accordance with the local GAAP and USGAAP requirements.

  • Support embecta’s LATAM controllership function to deliver on the objectives of embecta’s global controllership vision and responsibilities.

  • Controllership key-user in the global ERP implementation team to support embecta’s new SAP S/4HANA ERP Platform.

  • Support and monitor monthly activities with embecta’s third-party service provider, which will provide various shared services functions to the LATAM region.

  • Ensure the accuracy and timely recording of entries to the G/L and other books of record for LATAM legal entities (mainly for Brazil).

  • Review reconciliation of balance sheet accounts for Brazil legal entity.

  • Document and review all historical book to statutory adjustments with embecta’s third party service provider and attend auditors on the local Statutory Audits.

  • Provide controllership business partner services to the Brazil functional and business areas.

  • Perform local treasury activities in alignment with embecta’s global treasury team, such as: cash flow, FX exposure reports, local banks relation.

  • Advise on Local GAAP and interpretations related to financial accounting and reporting.

  • Monitor and ensure timely identification and compliance with evolving accounting guidance and provide Local GAAP interpretation if needed.

  • Support the development of LATAM region specific financial policies where needed.

  • Support embecta’s global tax function and income tax reporting requirements for all LATAM legal entities and ensure compliance and reporting of all local indirect tax matters.

  • Oversee the compliance with SOX (Sarbanes Oxley requirements), and corporate policies and procedures to guarantee the integrity of financial reporting and internal control environment.

  • Execute financial process and systems improvements to ensure the integrity of financial results and to improve efficiencies.

  • Demonstrate a high level of team player, collaboration, communication skills.

  • Perform other accounting and financial tasks as may be required from time to time.

Basic Requirements:

  • Accounting, Business and/or Finance Degree

  • Master’s degree is preferred

  • Experience working with 3rd party consultants

  • 8-10 years of accounting in multi-national environment

  • Experience with SAP

  • Must be bilingual in English

  • CPA or Chartered Accountant

  • Experience with external auditors
