The Mid-Level Industrial Designer at Zebra partners with product development teams across all business units from mobile computer, printer, data capture, Intelligent asset tracking and automation solutions. Designers work directly with product development organizations to deliver Innovative product solutions playing a key role bringing Zebra competitive advantage. The designer works closely with engineering teams to integrate all aspect of technical performance needs balanced with end-user and customer workflow performance factors into high-volume manufacturing/production.

He/she will have an opportunity to work with multiple cross-functions in a fast-paced product development environment and advance the state of art to create best-in-class usability, ergonomics, and product experience.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate closely with Senior Design leads to visualize the vision, prototype, and validate

design intent, and guide the development team on directions that build on user-centered

design principles.

• Works on all stages of design development process from customer research, concept

development, design validation and execution

• Supports with creation of design concept proposals and presentation for stakeholder

alignment and decision making

• Creates both conceptual and production 3D CAD models ensuring Design Vision is carried

through production

• Engages with JDM manufacturing partners for production design activities

• Creates and maintains CMF documents

Qualifications:

  • Strong problem-solving and conceptual development ability

  • Great sketching and ideation skills; excellent sense of form and detail

  • Proficiency in building 3D CAD models is a must

  • Autodesk Alias is a plus and one of the following engineering software: Pro-E or SolidWorks is required

  • Good Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Keyshot rendering skills required

  • Effective oral, written, visual communication and presentation skills.
