Akima Cloud Analyst, Associate Principal in Tampa, Florida

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Analyst, Associate Principal, to support a contract focused on providing enterprise-wide solutions for emerging technologies. This role is crucial to establishing and managing a "new technology pipeline," with a strong focus on cloud infrastructure, data management, and security. The Cloud Analyst will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of cloud-based applications and databases, ensuring they meet network standards, support mission-critical operations, and align with information assurance requirements. Additionally, the Cloud Analyst will play a key role in training staff and interns, guiding them in cloud best practices and architecture.

Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure Management:

  • Oversee the setup, configuration, and maintenance of cloud-based solutions that meet organizational standards. Ensure scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud environments.

Application & Database Support:

  • Develop and maintain custom applications and databases on cloud platforms, ensuring compatibility with network standards. Support the sustainment and upgrade of legacy systems, migrating them to modern cloud-based solutions as needed.

Emerging Technology Integration:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new technologies into cloud environments. Participate in the planning and deployment of innovative solutions that enhance enterprise capabilities.

  • Information Assurance & Security Compliance: Ensure all cloud-based solutions adhere to information assurance and cybersecurity policies. Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and compliance checks to uphold data integrity and protect sensitive information.

Training & Mentorship:

  • Provide training and support for IT staff and interns in cloud technologies, fostering a culture of continuous learning. Develop resources to assist team members in gaining proficiency in cloud tools, security, and best practices.

  • Technical Documentation & Reporting: Create and maintain detailed documentation on cloud configurations, processes, and policies. Provide regular reports on cloud performance, security, and cost-efficiency to stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Cloud Computing, or a related field.

  • Master’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in cloud management, analysis, or similar roles, with expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

  • Strong knowledge of cloud architecture, security best practices, and compliance standards.

  • Proven experience in application and database development within cloud environments, with familiarity in containerized and mobile platforms.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to train and mentor junior team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect).

  • Experience working with Department of Defense (DoD) or federal government contracts.

  • Knowledge of agile or SAFe methodologies for project delivery in cloud environments.
