Job Title: Production Planner

Job Description

This role acts as a liaison between production and planning. The primary responsibilities include pulling data from ERP/MRP systems, interpreting it, and entering it into Excel. The role requires the individual to be on the production floor throughout the day to help with planning shipments and checking quantities/inventory for shipments.

Responsibilities

  • Establish priorities for specific customer orders.

  • Revise schedules according to established priorities, availability/capability of workers, parts, material, machines, and equipment.

  • Distribute jobs to departments, denoting number, type, and proposed completion date of units to be produced.

  • Confer with department supervisors to determine progress of work.

  • Provide information on changes in processing methods received from document control.

  • Compile reports concerning progress of work and downtime due to failures of machines/equipment to advise production-planning personnel of production delays.

  • Maintain inventory of materials and parts needed to complete production.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

  • Experience in production or manufacturing.

  • Familiarity with ERP and MRP systems.

  • Strong inventory control skills.

  • Administrative and clerical skills.

  • Computer literacy, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Work Environment

The position offers competitive pay with a shift differential for second shift. There are openings on both shifts: 1st shift (6 AM for training, transitioning to 5 AM to 2:30 PM) and 2nd shift (training on 1st shift for two weeks, then transitioning to 2 PM to 11 PM).

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tempe, Arizona.
