LIBRARIAN- Part Time

Librarian for Tensed Public Library

[]{#_Hlk135713646}This is a part-time position requiring the applicant to be well informed and knowledgeable of the content and workings of a library. The position is 8-20 hours per month with the possibility of additional hours.

ACCEPTABLE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

College credits desirable but not required. High School diploma plus experience in library operations and involvement with public contact or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities. Must have computer knowledge adequate for the job, word processing experience is helpful.

STARTING PAY: \$10.00/HR

DUTIES INCLUDE:

[]{#_Hlk135713800}Sort books, publications, and other items according to established procedure and return them to shelves, files, or other designated storage areas.

Open and close library during specified hours and secure library equipment, such as computers and audio-visual equipment.

Assist patrons with computer needs, faxing, and printing from a variety of devices.

Locate library materials for patrons, including books, periodicals, audiobooks, visual materials, and other library materials.

Prepare and process items for interlibrary loan.

Assist with programming and special events.

Other jobs as assigned.

Attend training workshops as the Board may deem appropriate based on the availability of funds.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical effort characteristics and working environment described here are representative of those an employee may encounter when working at this position. Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable employees to perform essential functions. Employees may need to lift and carry up to 50lbs approximately 20ft. The employee will need to use close vision and distance vision. Work includes the sensory ability to talk, hear, smell, and touch. Employees sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Monthly driving in-county is required.
