The Payroll Department at Union Health is looking for a Payroll Specialist for the Terre Haute campus.     Payroll Specialist Essential Job Duties:

  • Responsible for Preparing, Inputting, Processing, and Auditing of Payroll Direct Deposits.

  • Enters/Audits pertinent employee information into the Time and Attendance and HR systems to ensure correct pay.

  • Performs auditing of both HRIS and Time and Attendance by running reports in various software systems. Expected to identify and lead the creation of new reports and determine when needed to improve standard operating processes.

  • Processes/Audits Input in HRIS and T&A Systems, Checks Other Specialists' Work, and Actively Participates in Standard Operating Procedure Improvement.

  • Demonstrates knowledge regarding Hospital Policy, procedures, and general information.

    Education, Training & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Two or more years of prior payroll experience required.

  • Numerical ability is required to perform arithmetic calculations quickly and accurately.

  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Should be able to perform a "V-Lookup" and "Pivot Tables".

  • Ability to read, interpret, and verify data from multiple formats.

  • Knowledge of payroll laws and processing.

  • Able to work on multiple projects using multiple systems simultaneously.
