Job Title: Production Worker

Job Description

Join our team as a Production Worker where you will operate various equipment and hand tools to assemble wall panels, floor panels, and roof trusses. Your tasks will include reading and interpreting plans and blueprints, and assembling floors, roof trusses, and walls for the home construction industry. Wood is pre-kitted and supplied to truss/floor tables, with laser guidance for precise placement. You will apply nail plates and use tools like hammers, nail guns to set up wood and assemble structures. Additionally, you will perform visual quality checks to ensure the highest standards of production.

Hard Skills

• 1 month experience in construction, roofing, or home renovations

• 3 months experience working with hand tools (hammer, drill, saw)

• Ability to read a measuring tape in standard and metric

Soft Skills

• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills

• Ability to work well in fast-paced environments

• Attention to detail for quality checks

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 480 Hour(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Thorndale, Ontario.

Work Environment

Our plant fosters a friendly culture in a small-town setting where team members often hang out during breaks. The work environment is not completely climate-controlled; be prepared to work in varying temperatures, mitigated by industrial fans for comfort. Teams range from 2-5 members in various production areas. The dress code is relaxed, including jeans and hats, but requires CSA Approved Steel Toed Boots and prohibits profane language on clothing. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 4:30 PM, with a pay rate of $20/hr.
