Amazon DSP Business Development Manager, Last Mile Account Management in Tokyo, Japan

Amazon is looking for a Business Development Manager (BDM) who will be responsible for recruiting high quality and bar-raising Delivery Service Partners (DSPs) targeting small scale business owners and entrepreneurs. BDM owns an acquisition pipeline, including marketing the program attractiveness, evaluating business plans that are developed by the DSP candidates based on the guidelines, making the recruitment decisions, support to prepare for the interview, the final evaluation point and extending an offer, while ensuring positive candidate experience with high-touch support.

BDM plays a key role for candidates to gain right understanding of the program requirements and program benefits. Evaluate the candidates based on evaluation standards to assess qualification, cultural and program fit. Assign the best launch location to the candidate and closely support from business plan review through offer acceptance. Collaborate with planning, NWO, PE, Station stakeholders to ensure launch readiness and once offer is accepted, ensure proper and smooth hand over to Business Coaches.

The ideal candidate has an ability to work with internal and external contacts, can articulate value of compelling value proposition, listen well to understand the questions and concerns and properly address and manage multiple projects and tasks and demonstrated openness to new idea or outside of the box thinking.

Key job responsibilities

  • Evaluate candidates who passed the first screening based on evaluation criteria, including their motivation to become DSP business owners, company vision, business plan and potential to succeed as a DSP.

  • Have a capability to judge the potential for success beyond the pre-defined evaluation standards.

  • Responsible for closing the recruitment target in charge and manage pipeline of candidates assigned to responsible area in cooperation with the Recruiting Coordinator.

  • Nurture candidates in the pipeline and engage them throughout the recruitment process.

  • Ensure that all set up is ready prior to sending an offer to the candidate which include facility and capacity.

  • When an interview is concluded, write up a summary and prepare for final approval and an offer. An offer briefing session will be held with partner candidates to explain the program terms and fee schedule.

  • Conduct a kick off meeting with the station team and Business Coaches (BC), and hand over to BC.

  • For new launching stations, coordinate with the Launch Execution team and provide input about the recruitment status and support OTR planning for the capacity planning.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 3+ years of client or vendor facing roles with a focus in relationship management and negotiation skills experience

  • Business level Japanese

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience aggregating and analyzing internal and external campaign metrics to assess performance drivers and identify insights

  • Business level English
